“17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”
The HOPE of His calling. What is this hope and what does it do?
It is this hope that allows us to persevere in the face of tribulation. It is this hope that allows us to remain steadfast in truth in this day of changing times and changing doctrine. It is this hope that becomes the anchor of our soul when our flesh and our heart fails. It is this hope that becomes our hiding place when we are persecuted and delivered up for the name of Jesus Christ. It is this hope that causes us to rejoice in our sufferings and gladly bear in our bodies the marks of the Lord Jesus. It is this very hope that bears witness in our spirits that the entirety of God’s word is truth and every one of His righteous judgments endures forever (Ps. 119:160). He is indeed the soon and coming King. Rejoice!
